우리나라 최초의 협동조합 오케스트라로 창단된 코리아쿱오케스트라는 전통적인 오케스트라의 위계에서 벗어나 자주적이고, 자립적이며, 자치적인 연주활동을 추구하며 우리나라를 대표하는 민간 오케스트라로 성장하고 있다.

코리아쿱오케스트라의 단원들은 본인의 발전을 위하여 스스로 애쓰는 동시에, 스스로 책임지는 조직 문화를 가꾸기 위해 함께 연대한다. 또한, 모두가 평등한 관계를 맺으며, 공정하고, 민주적인 절차로 논의한 오케스트라의 주요 의사는 음악성과 행정력의 질적 향상으로 이어지고 있다.

코리아쿱오케스트라는 예술의전당, 세종문화회관, 고양아람누리, 성남아트센터 등 주요 공연장과 국립오페라단, 국립합창단, 유니버설발레단 등 주요 예술단체에서 정기적으로 초청을 받아 매 해 90여회의 공연을 무대에 올리며, 다양한 무대예술의 균형 있는 발전에도 기여하고 있다.

2014년 10월 창단과 동시에 한국‧이탈리아 수교 130주년 기념 밀라노 라 스칼라 극장의 오페라 <아이다 1963>에 참여했고, 2017년에는 국립아시아문화전당의 동시대 공연예술 페스티벌에서 독일 베를린 3대 오페라극장 중 한 곳인 코미셰 오퍼 베를린의 대표작 <마술피리>에 출연했다. 국립오페라단과는 <루살카>, <시칠리아섬의 저녁기도> 등 정통 오페라에서부터 <빨간 바지> 등 창작 오페라까지 폭넓은 레퍼토리를 함께 하고 있다. 유니버설발레단과는 2021년부터  <돈키호테>, <지젤>, <호두까기 인형> 등 다양한 작품으로 발레 애호가들을 만나고 있다

2015년부터 2019년까지 5년 간 용인 포은아트홀의 마티네 콘서트에 출연하여 클래식 음악 저변확대에 기여했고, 예술의전당 <11시 콘서트>와 <토요콘서트>, 고양아람누리 마티네 콘서트 무대에도 오르고 있다.

<픽사 인 콘서트>, <디즈니 인 콘서트>, <드림웍스 인 콘서트>, <미녀와 야수 인 콘서트>, <코코 인 콘서트> 등 애니메이션 콘서트를 꾸준히 펼치고 있으며, <해리 포터 인 콘서트> 등 영화 음악을 통해서도 대중과 호흡하고 있다.

2022년에는 코리아쿱오케스트라는 충무아트센터 상주예술단체로 선정되어 지역사회의 문화예술 향유 기회 확대에 기여했다.

Founded as Korea's first cooperative orchestra, the Korea Coop Orchestra is growing into a nongovernmental orchestra representing Korea, pursuing independent and autonomous performance activities, breaking away from the traditional orchestra hierarchy.

At the same time as it was founded in October 2014, the orchestra participated in the opera 《Aida 1963》 of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan to commemorate the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Italy, and in 2017, they were on stage in 《Magic Flute》 of Komische Oper Berlin, one of the three major opera theaters in Berlin, at Asia Culture Center. Since 2015, it has been performing a wide range of repertoires from authentic operas such as 《Rusalka》 to contemporary operas such as 《Red Pants》 with the Korea National Opera and staged Evening Prayer on the Island of Sicily as a regular performance in 2022. Following 《Don Quixote》, 《Giselle》, and 《Nutcracker》 with the Universal Ballet in 2021 and 2022, it is meeting ballet lovers with various works in 2023.

It has contributed to expanding the base of classical music by appearing at the 《Matinee Concert》 at Poeun Art Hall in Yongin for five years, and has also been on the stage of the Seoul Arts Center's 《11:00 Concert》, 《Saturday Concert》, and Goyang Aram Nuri’s 《Matinee Concert》.

It is consistently on stage with animation concerts such as 《Pixar in Concert》, 《 Disney in Concert》, 《DreamWorks in Concert》, 《Beauty and the Beast in Concer》t and 《Coco in Concert》, also working with the public through film music such as 《Harry Potter in Concert》.

The Korea Coop Orchestra had been selected as a resident orchestra in 2022 at the Chungmu Art Center, contributed to the expansion of opportunities for local communities to enjoy culture and arts.
